The Celtic Music Radio CD Album of the Week is 'Shetland Lights', the recent album by Bratach Bana.

Bratach Bana is a traditional Scottish Folk band based in the North East of Scotland. The line up is: Sandy Fettes, Andy Ritchie, Scott Thompson, Babs Burnett and John Simpson.

They released their debut album
'Shetland Lights' back in July 2007 at the Heugh Hotel in Stonehaven during the Stonehaven Folk Festival. It features a selection of original material including the title track Shetland Lights and The White Horse of Mormond, which was adapted from a poem written by local minister Rev. Charles Birnie. There is also a broad mix of material from traditional Scottish songsmiths such as Dick Gaughan and Dougie Maclean.

Bratach Bana will be playing on Saturday 23 August on the Banshee Stage of the 2008 Wizard Festival, New Deer Showground, Aberdeenshire and on Saturday 27 September 2008 at the Doric Festival, Aberdeenshire. For more information visit their official website at www.bratachbana.com
